Rant -o- the Day

First, I'd like to begin by saying that I promise to make regular entries here, about every day or so.

Makiko Itoh

Second, if you like role-playing games, watch this space. Soon I will announce an important project that you may want to get involved in.

Third, I'm a conservative independent who votes Republican because they get me what I want more often then the Democrats do. This doesn't make me a Republican.

I hate labels. They don't mean anything. They never have and never will.

For instance, you can call yourself a Christian. Sure, you may go to church and sing and put a few bucks in the basket like everybody else, but if you don't feel it in your heart, it doesn't mean anything. See, when Jesus was with us physically, he didn't come up with the term "Christian", nor did any of his followers. It was pagan Romans who used that label to described the disciples of Christ, who often called themselves Galliliens, or who described their beliefs as "The Way." If you call yourself a Christian, people assume all kinds of things about you that probably aren't true.

The same is true with political parties. Think of an average Republican. Can you name five beliefs he has? How about the same for a Democrat?

Now pretend that you don't know what Joe Sixpack's political affiliation is. How would you know what he believes without asking him? Of course, you can't. Why would you assume what he believes just because of his party? I, for one, make it a rule to never give out that kind of information to people unless the situation warrants it.

Anyway... I don't know exactly where I'm going with this. I'm just ranting, after all. But remember the tired and overused saying: don't judge a book by its' cover.
