I noticed another thing about bugs today. Well, not so much bugs as ants. And spiders. I noticed that whenever you see a spider, they don't come in groups of more than one. They just crawl along by themselves for the most part, and make webs. Ants, on the other hand, usually come in groups of more than one. If you ever see an ant crawling along by itself, it is always followed, not long after, by at least one other one.
So I was sitting on this bench today, and a spider crawled along my leg, and at first I thought it was an ant, because it was pretty small. I brushed it off, however. Then, not long after that, an ant crawled along the bench I was sitting on. Now, I knew that ants always appear in groups of more than one. Now, I only saw one of them crawling along, so I expected to see another one. Sure enough, about a minute later I noticed another ant crawling on the bench. Strangely, however, I only noticed those two.
I was thinking about the election that's coming up next year, even though it seems like it's this year...
Wouldn't it be neat to have the first female president of the United States? Just as cool as it would be to have the first African-American president of the United States. It would be even more awesome to have the first Hispanic or Asian president of the United States. So here's what I was thinking: Find somebody who is a mix of all of those, and find someway to make them president. It would be a Jewish woman with African, Hispanic, Asian, and Australian Aborigine ancestry, and then you'd get 6 milestones in one! The first of all of them, in ONE PERSON!
Brilliant idea, huh?
Because Shenlon is who he is, there will be no political commentary on this blog. Okay, perhaps a little... but I am by no means qualified to talk about social issues. I can't talk about women's issues, because I'm a man, and would be branded sexist.. I can't talk about minority issues, because I'm white, and would be branded racist.. I can't talk about economic issues, because I'm one of the fortunate middle class, and would be branded elitist. Actually, I'm conservative, so my political ideas mean nothing to anyone important, and I'm a Mormon, so my religious opinions are, obviously, heretical.
So, yeah. I'm screwed.
After a long hiatus, Shenlon's Almost Useful Blog returns to the web. Most likely, there aren't many people who will read this or care about it, because I have no website at the moment. Never fear! Before long, there will be a Shenlon website (of some kind...) and the possibility for more publicity for this blog, among other things. My main problem at this point is I'm not too knowledgeable on web design, but there are so many crappy websites out there, so how hard can it be?
Yeah. So, there you have it. And... anyone who is knowledgeable about web design... maybe you could lend a hand, huh? :)
