Some really bad thunderstorms moved in last night, so I had to shut down my tower and unplug it. The laptop was still online, though, since the cable modem will be replaced for free if it gets zapped, and if my AirPort base station gets fried, I take it into CompUSA and they'll give me a replacement for free (wonderful insurance). However, I felt more like cozying up with the Empress than jumping online to talk about every event that had happened in the past few days (of which there were none), so it all worked out for the best, I suppose.
Posted by Eric at June 3, 2004 09:27 AMYou ever heard of a UPS? Wonderful insurance policy, as well as protection and constant power in the event of a black out...
Posted by: DarkFlame at June 4, 2004 01:34 AMHeard of it? Yes. Do I have the money sitting around to use on a relatively worthless piece of equipment? No. If I was making tons of money off of the Empire, I might be willing to spend some of it to keep working on it in a thunderstorm. However, since I don't, it isn't worth it.

(More than one of us around here who can indulge in shameless self-promotion . . . mwa ha! Would you consider this spam, love?)
Posted by: Sakhmet at June 4, 2004 10:14 AMWait...you're not making tons off the empire? So much for my plans of taking the throne while you were away :)
