So tempting...

For just $678, I can get a 1.42GHz Mac mini with an internal AirPort card (memory upgraded after). That's only about a month's worth of bills... *sigh*

It doesn't help that it is over 3 times as powerful as my current machine. Grr.

Memory isnt upgradeable by the end user, at least not according to apple. Then again, its probably not too hard to pop the case open

It's upgradable, just voids the warranty.

It is very tempting. If I ever decide I want a little box to run a server or something, I'd probably grab the mini. I'm telling everyone I know with an older machine to upgrade to the mini too. My next major Apple purchase will be a PowerBook though, as soon as *those* update.

What are you going to be using it for? I know you've got a G5, so I can't imagine it would be for gaming. If it's just going to be for college (used for in-class note taking, email, etc.), I highly suggest that you get a refurbished laptop; the money you save could get put towards a good backpack for it (which you should *definitely* invest in) and/or more RAM.
