{ b l o g . e v u l a . n e t : : b l a c k l i s t f a q } What is a blacklist? As far as this is concerned, the Blacklist is a list of spam sites (porn, etc.) that are automatically blocked when they are added to a comment.
Blog spam works by getting a URL onto as many sites as possible. This increases that site's Google ranking, which must in turn make the spammer some amount of money. Since the whole purpose of the spam is to get a URL onto your blog, banning those URLs is incredibly efficient in both protecting your blog and in denying the spammers.
Don't delete it! That only solves the problem halfway. You should add it to the Blacklist, as outlined next...
It's just that easy! :) Really, by doing all that, you are making the blogs of everyone that much more secure.
Whenever I check my blog for spam, I check everyone's blogs for spam. If you don't de-spam your blog, I will.
If you need to know something that isn't covered here, post to the Imperial Lounge on my Forums; there are lots of wonderfully intelligent people that visit that board on a regular basis, and one of them might be able to answer your question faster than I could. Please do not email me directly about problems you're having. Why? Because I don't have time to answer every single question that comes my way, which is why posting to the Imperial Lounge is your best option for assistance. Any direct emails for blog support will be ignored.
