Happy Christmas everybody. Yes, even you. I know, you're an atheist, or some other religion and don't celebrate the birth of Jesus. But that's okay, you can still be happy, can't you? That's right. You can. So don't get all offended or whatever. Besides, if you get offended for somebody wishing you happiness (or merriment), you need to reassess your interpersonal skills.
ad5339.jpgNow, the whole December 25th thing isn't even really the day Jesus was born on. Truth is, nobody actually knows when it was, it's arbitrary. But it would have been in the spring, that's for sure. The only reason this day was chosen was because it fit nicely into the calendar. You see, you can't really have Advent and Lent overlapping, and there's other stuff to take into account. All these various religious things that you may not care too much about. But this is the day that was picked, so here we are.
Anyway, I'm posting here kinda at midnight or whatever. Nothing yet to report on the gift front. I might get an entry up later for those who's very existence teeters on the edge of knowing whatever it was that I got. If not, sorry about that, I hope you enjoy your nonexistence.
What else is there to say... well... I find the whole "War on Christmas" thing rather amusing, and mostly because it's true that retailers and whatnot have been avoiding "Merry Christmas" like the plague this season. But I don't see it as a "War on Christianity", it's simply retailers getting too politically correct in order to try to sell more stuff. It's just a phase. Next winter they'll go nuts in the opposite direction. But hey, the media loves to jump on a story, even if it's one of their own creation.
Happy Christmas!
