One of the things I got this Christmas was the DVD for Serenity. You may have remembered my previous blog entry demanding your attendance in the movie theater. Well, it's time for another demand. If you haven't gotten the DVD yet, get it now.
programz studioNow that that's out of the way, I'll explain in greater detail why this DVD is superior to that of other Digital Video Discs you might have seen. For one thing, it comes with a snazzy new FBI warning. Oh the colors, you won't believe! Then of course is the cool main menu. They definitely put some time into it. Oh yeah, and Serenity was the best movie of the year. Go figure.
Of course, it has some faults. The packaging was, frankly, criminal. I don't know how somebody could open it if not driven to do so by the awesomeness they knew was contained inside. And I had loads of troubles getting the DVD actually off of its little center knobby thing so I could play it. Pushing on it didn't seem to do much, I had to pull it up from the side and hope I didn't physically damage it from the bending. But overall, the experience was worth it once the DVD started to play.
Here's a tip for all you easter-egg fans: with "play movie" selected, go left, and enter.
Enjoy!
